An interior detail is the whole cabin done properly: seats, carpets, mats, glass and every hard surface, at one flat price regardless of what we find when we open the door.
It is the service most people actually want. The outside of a car gets rained on and looks fine again. The inside only ever gets worse, and it is the part you sit in every day.
What the interior work covers
Seats, carpets and mats
Vacuumed thoroughly, including under the seats and along the rails where the vacuum in a coin-op wash never reaches. Mats come out and get cleaned separately rather than being vacuumed in place.
Dashboard, console and door panels
Wiped down properly, including the seams and the switch surrounds where dust packs in. Houston heat makes plastics off-gas, which is what leaves that dull film on everything.
Cup holders and vents
The two places every quick clean skips. Cup holders because they are awkward, vents because they need a brush rather than a cloth.
All interior glass
Windshield, side glass, mirrors and the rear screen. Interior glass is what causes glare when you drive into low sun, and it is almost always dirtier than people think.
The trunk or cargo area
Included, not an extra. It is the part of the interior that most cleans never touch, so grit works into the liner and stays there.
When an interior needs more than a vacuum
The carpet has gone a different color in the footwells
That is ground-in dirt rather than dirt sitting on top. A vacuum lifts loose debris. Getting the color back needs agitation and extraction.
It smells when the car has been shut up
Warm weather and a closed car brings out whatever is in the fabric. If it is noticeable on opening the door, it is in the material, not the air.
There are marks you have stopped seeing
Most people stop noticing their own interior after a few months. A useful test is whether you would be comfortable with a passenger in the back seat.
You are selling or handing the car back
Interior condition moves a private sale price more than almost anything else, and it is the cheapest thing on the car to fix.

How an interior detail runs

Everything loose comes out
Mats out, personal items set aside. Anything you want kept, tell us and we leave it where it is.

Full vacuum, seams first
Seats, rails, carpets, trunk. The work is in the edges and the seams rather than the flat areas where a vacuum reaches easily.

Deep clean on the fabric
Shampoo and extraction on carpets and upholstery where they need it. This is what separates an interior detail from a tidy-up, and it is why it takes a couple of hours.

Hard surfaces and glass last
Dash, console, doors, vents, then all the glass. Glass goes last so anything kicked up during the rest of the job does not end up on it.

Fresh mat and wheel cover
Every job finishes the same way. It should feel clean when you open the door, because that is the part people remember.
Being straight about limits
- Permanent stains. Some things have dyed the fabric rather than soiled it, and they do not come out. We will tell you which is which before we start.
- Tears, burns and worn bolsters. We clean, we do not reupholster.
- Smells with a source underneath. If something soaked through into the padding below the carpet, a surface clean will improve it and not solve it.
- Pet hair in volume. It comes out, but heavy pet hair adds real time and we will say so when we see the car.

Interior detail questions
How much does interior car detailing cost in Houston?
The Interior Special is $149 flat, regardless of vehicle size. If you want the outside done at the same time, the interior and exterior special is $199. Both are one price with no size surcharge and nothing added afterwards.
How long does an interior detail take?
About two hours for most cars. Heavily soiled carpets, pet hair or a car that has not been cleaned in years take longer, and we tell you that when we see it rather than surprising you at the end.
Will it get rid of the smell in my car?
Usually, because most smells live in the carpet and upholstery and come out with a deep clean and extraction. If something has soaked through into the padding underneath, a surface clean improves it rather than solving it, and we will say so up front.
Do you clean pet hair?
Yes. Pet hair woven into fabric takes considerably longer than loose hair, so it is worth mentioning when you book so we can allow the time rather than running over.
Do I need to empty the car first?
It helps but it is not required. If there are things you would rather we did not move, tell us and we work around them. We set personal items aside rather than throwing anything away.
Can you do it at my office while I work?
Yes, and it is one of the most common bookings we take. The car sits in the lot for about two hours and you get it back done. We just need to be able to get into it.
