Ceramic coating
Semi-permanent paint protection that makes the car easier to keep clean and holds for years rather than weeks. Booked about a week out.
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied over your paint that cures into a hard, semi-permanent layer. It is not a wax and it is not a polish. It bonds to the clear coat and stays there.
What it buys you is time. Water sheets off instead of sitting, contamination has a harder time bonding, and washing the car stops being a fight. In a climate like Houston, where sun, humidity and airborne fallout work on paint continuously, that difference compounds.
We book coatings about a week out. That is not a scheduling problem, it is the job: a coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so the paint has to be right first.
Chemical and mechanical decontamination to pull bonded contamination out of the clear coat. On a Houston car this usually means iron fallout from traffic and industry, which shows up as rust-coloured specks that a wash will not move.
Swirls and light scratches are polished out before anything goes on top. A coating amplifies whatever is underneath rather than hiding it, so skipping this seals in the damage for years.
Every panel stripped of oils and polishing residue. If anything is left on the surface the coating bonds to that instead of the paint, and it fails early.
Applied panel by panel and levelled before it flashes. This is the part that cannot be rushed, and it is why the appointment is longer than a detail.
How to wash it, what to keep off it, and how long to leave it before the first wash. A coating that is washed badly still degrades, just more slowly than bare paint.
This is the single biggest factor. A garaged car takes far less punishment. A car that sits on a driveway or in a lot all day in Houston is the one a coating actually pays off on.
A coating is measured in years. If you are selling in six months, a wax and a good detail is the better spend.
Coating a car with heavy swirls without correcting first locks the swirls in. Either correct first or accept that the finish underneath is what you are protecting.
The practical benefit people notice most is not gloss, it is that washing gets easier and stays looking done for longer.
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. That is why the prep is the job.
Skip the correction and you have sealed swirl marks under a layer built to last years. It is the step cheap coating jobs leave out and the one that decides how the result looks.

Driver footwell, mat and console on a family SUV.
Either in person or from photos in daylight. Condition drives both the price and how long it takes, and quoting without seeing it means one of us is wrong on the day.
Coatings start at $599 and go up with vehicle size and the amount of correction needed. We tell you which parts are the coating and which are the prep so you can decide.
Decontamination and correction take the bulk of the time. This is the part that determines how the result looks, and it is the part cheap coating jobs skip.
The coating goes on and needs to be left alone while it cures. We tell you exactly how long before the car can get wet.
Questions
Coatings start at $599. The final figure depends on the size of the vehicle and how much correction the paint needs first, because prep is most of the job. Send a few photos of the paint in daylight and we will give you a real number.
Years rather than weeks, which is the main difference from wax. Exactly how long depends on the product used, whether the car is garaged, and how it is washed afterwards. We tell you what to expect for your specific vehicle rather than quoting a headline figure.
For a car that lives outside in Houston and that you are keeping for a few years, generally yes. Sun, humidity and industrial fallout attack paint continuously here. If the car is garaged or you are selling soon, a detail and a wax is the better spend.
Usually, if the paint has swirls or light scratches. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it rather than hiding it, so correcting first is what makes the result worth paying for. We look at the paint and tell you honestly whether it needs it.
Because the prep is the job. Decontaminating and correcting paint properly takes hours, and it has to happen before anything is applied. Booking a week out means the vehicle gets that time instead of being squeezed into a same-day slot.
Yes, and it is the ideal time, because there is little to correct. New paint still needs decontaminating, though. Cars pick up rail dust and fallout in transport and storage before anyone drives them.
By hand, with a pH-neutral soap, and never through an automatic wash with brushes. Automatic washes are what put swirls into the coating you just paid for. We go through the aftercare with you when the job is done.
Booking, payment and bad-weather questions are answered in the full FAQ. Anything specific to your vehicle, ask us directly and we will tell you whether this is the service you actually need.
Across the Houston metro. Same price everywhere inside the service area, because we charge by vehicle rather than by distance.
Tell us where the car is parked and we come to you. Packages from $149, most jobs about two hours.
